Band Clinician
Dr. Peter Haberman
Director of Bands, Concordia College (Moorhead, MN)
Peter Haberman serves as the director of bands and associate professor of music at Concordia College where he conducts The Concordia Band. He also leads the Echo Band, works with student conductors, teaches music education courses and coordinates the comprehensive band program. Prior to his appointment at Concordia, Haberman held similar positions as director of bands at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire and Bucknell University.
Haberman maintains an active schedule as a conductor, guest conductor and clinician, having worked in over 11 states and on 5 continents. His ensembles have performed at both national and international conferences and music festivals. He also has served as music director for many community ensembles including the Chippewa Valley Youth Symphony.
Prior to his college career, Haberman spent several years teaching at the Mercer Island School District in Washington and the Maple Lake School District in Minnesota. He was honored to be the recipient of the Educator of the Year Award and the Principal’s Award for Outstanding Teaching at Mercer Island, and the Maple Lake Employee of the Year Award.
Haberman is an active board member for the Minnesota Band Directors Association. He is also a member of the College Band Directors National Association, Minnesota Music Educators Association, National Association for Music Education, and World Association for Symphonic Bands and Ensembles. His honorary memberships include Phi Beta Mu, Phi Mu Alpha, and Pi Kappa Lambda.
A native of Minnesota, he has earned degrees from Concordia College, the University of Montana, and the University of Minnesota where he completed a Doctor of Music Arts in conducting. Peter lives in Moorhead, Minnesota with his wife Erika Tomten and their daughter Claire.

G. Phillip Shoultz
Associate Artistic Director of VocalEssence; Adjunct faculty for Graduate Conducting at University of St. Thomas; Cantor at Westwood Lutheran Church
G. Phillip Shoultz, III is the associate artistic director of VocalEssence and the founding director of The Singers Of This Age. Phillip uses the power of the spoken word and song to foster community and inspire action among people of all ages and abilities. Phillip conducts festival choirs and leads workshops across the United States and beyond. He serves on the faculty of the University of St. Thomas and guides the ministries of worship, music, and the arts at Westwood Lutheran Church. The Minnesota Orchestra regularly engages Phillip to host their Young People’s Concerts and his online presence continues to grow as his pandemic livestream, Take 5 with GPS, rapidly approaches the 450 episode milestone. The winner of numerous honors, including the ACDA Graduate Conducting Competition and multiple Teacher of the Year awards, Phillip founded “Table for More” in the summer of 2020 to help organizations address issues related to innovation, equity, and belonging in the arts. Phillip lives in St. Louis Park with his wife, Michelle, and their two children (Malachi and Lydia Grace).

Joshua Reznicow
Director of Orchestral Activities, Linn-Marr Schools (Marion, IA)
A native of the Twin Cities, Joshua Reznicow (1975), holds a BM in string education and composition/theory from the University of Northern Iowa, and a Masters in Arts and Teaching (MAT) from Coe College. Mr. Reznicow is currently Director of Orchestral Activities for the Linn-Mar Community School District in Marion, Iowa as well as adjunct faculty for Composition and String Methods at Coe College in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. While at Linn-Mar his orchestras have won several awards and superior ratings at area contests as well as twice being named a Grammy Signature music program. Mr. Reznicow has won the 2005 TODA (Texas Orchestra Directors Association) annual composition contest and was named the 2011 Classroom Teacher of the year for the state of Iowa, as well as earning a Distinguished Alumnus award from The University of Northern Iowa.
Mr. Reznicow has been a frequent guest director of youth orchestras and honor orchestras throughout the state and region guest directing the Cedar Rapids Youth Philharmonic, the West Des Moines Elementary Orchestra Festival, on several occasions the Cedar Rapids Metro Honor Orchestra Festival, the Kennedy Honor Orchestra Festival, the Davenport Intermediate String Festival, the Waterloo Community Middle School Honor Orchestra, the All-Millard Orchestra Festival in Omaha, Nebraska, the Dubuque All-City Festival, and the Iowa Junior Honors Orchestra Festival in Ames, Iowa.
As a composer Mr. Reznicow has written several works for professional and young groups alike including pieces for film, piano, various ensembles, orchestral, band, and choral works. He has been performed and commissioned by the Iowa All State Orchestra, the All-Kingdom Music Festival Orchestra in Dhahran, Saudi Arabia, the National High School Music Institute at Northwestern University, SCIBA Band Association, the Austin Chamber Music Center, HSPVA (Houston School for the Performing and Visual Arts), The Coe College Band and Orchestra, the Northern Iowa Junior Orchestra and by several high school, middle school, and professional groups throughout the United States and Europe. He has had multiple performances at the International Midwest Band and Orchestra Clinic, and has been featured on J.W. Pepper’s “Editor Choice list” for string publications on several occasions. Mr. Reznicow is published by TRN Music Publishers, Tempo Press, Kendor Music, Ludwig Masters, and Latham Music Publishers.
Mr. Reznicow is a member of the American String Teacher Association (ASTA), the Iowa String Teacher Association (ISTA) where he has served as Member at Large-East on their board of directors, the Iowa Composers Forum (ICF) where he is past secretary on their board of directors. He is currently a member of the String Orchestra Affairs Committee (SOAC), and is assistant coordinator for the Iowa All-State Orchestra. Mr. Reznicow currently resides in Marion, Iowa with his wife Karen, and their two children Andrea and Aiden.
