Arrival/Buses
- Drop off on the East side of Austin High School (flagpole side); pull as far south as possible.
- AHS Staff will be on the north side of the school (3rd Ave NW) to direct bus traffic.
- AHS Choir students will greet and escort your students to your homerooms.
- Enter through Door #7 (Gym lobby) or Door #1 (main HS door)—both accessible
- If you have large percussion, Ove Berven Gym (behind auditorium) will be the “holding room”
- Note: there will be very few guides available before 7:30 (enough for the schools with 7:45 warmups)
- See separate attachment with additional bus information, bus parking locations, etc.
Elevators and Large Equipment
- There are two elevators in the main building, both located in the West hallway just south of the middle of the building. One is clearly newer and is significantly larger and faster. If you are bringing your own large percussion equipment, it can be stored in Ove Berven Gym (directly behind the Knowlton Auditorium stage, and just inside Door 6 on the main building). Please let Christoph Dundas know if you will be bringing your own large percussion so we can have storage space available and an alternate door open to move it onto the stage!
- If you need elevators to go to your warmup location: Both elevators in the morning go to the basement, leading to the tunnel to the AHS Annex building. The annex has an elevator leading to the warmup spaces. Level “-1” is the tunnel, “1R” opens into the choir room at the bottom level, “1” is choir room top level, and “2” is band & orchestra.

Information will be in the Main Commons (outside Knowlton Auditorium).

Warmup and Performance Locations
- ALL ensembles: Assigned hosts will meet ensembles at your homerooms 15 minutes prior to your warmup time. Please give clinicians’ copies your scores/music to your host. Host students will remain with you until your performance ends.

- Clinicians’ comments will be recorded on a separate SD card and delivered to directors with your judges’ music copies.
- Daytime performances will be professionally recorded, but unedited. The only copy will be provided to directors to use as you see fit.
Finale Concert Video
Will be professionally livestreamed by Westmark and archived on the Austin Public Schools YouTube channel.
Audience
- The three performance sites are the ONLY part of the building open to the public. Audience members are NOT allowed in homeroom areas, directors’ room, or anywhere in the Annex.
- PERFORMANCE SITES WILL ONLY BE OPEN BETWEEN SCHOOLS! Please remind your students to arrive early for performances, as doors will close when each performance is announced. Staff members will not allow entry during a piece of music.
